The Torrey Pines EchoTherm HS40-2 230V digital stirring hot plate has an 8 x 8 inch white ceramic top plate, a temperature range of 25 to 450 degrees C, and a temperature accuracy of + or - 1%. A platinum resistance temperature detector (RTD), feedback, and an LCD readout provide control to 1 degree C and a stability of + or - 1 degree C, and either the temperature of the plate surface or the solution can be controlled. The hot plate has an unloaded stirring speed range of 100 to 1,500 rpm with a settability of 10 rpm and a maximum aqueous load of 4L. It can store up to ten 10-step programs, in which each step includes a temperature, stirring speed, time, and heating rate, and a program can be repeated automatically up to 98 times. The temperature of the top plate can be ramped for exact rates of heating and cooling. Operation can be timed up to 99 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds, and the unit has an RS-232 interface for control or data recording by a computer. It comes with a detachable line cord.
