Product Description Juno 6 inch incandescent remodel housing is IC-rated which allows housing to be completely covered with insulation From the Manufacturer The IC21R 6-Inch Downlight Shallow Incandescent Remodel Housing is an IC rated, energy efficient Air-Loc sealed remodel housing for applications where the back side of the ceiling is not accessible. With its 5-3/4-Inch height, it is meant for use in 2x6 construction, and is an ideal solution where vertical installation space is limited. The housing has a floating socket with spring to accommodate various trim installations and contains a medium base porcelain socket with nickel-plated copper screw shell that accepts an incandescent light bulb. Bulb wattage ratings and apertures are based on trim selection. Installing the IC21R is made easy by securing the factory installed remodel springs that accommodate up to 1 3/4-Inch ceiling thickness. Supplied with a pre-wired junction box with (5) 1/2-Inch knockouts with pryout slots, (4) non-metallic sheathed cable connectors, and ground wire. A shadow-free, knife-edge trim design blends smoothly in to the ceiling and allows architectural continuity with Aculux trims (sold separately). UL Listed, C-UL/CSA certified for damp and wet locations and for through-branch wiring, with a maximum of (4) 12-AWG conductors. Wet location listed when using a 241 trim. All trims are sold separately and come in a wide variety of styles and finishes to customize to your needs, including the 228, 229, 244, 247, 248, 249, 250 or XR30101 trims. Meets Washington State IECC and MEC energy codes as tested per ASTM-E283 and conforms to City of Chicago IP requirements.
